Monitoring Theme – The themes addressed at the 2025 Murcia workshop focused on “Quantitative and Qualitative Water Monitoring” and included applications and technological innovations used to monitor changes (water sources, human activities, multi-sectoral demands, water quality and quantity), as well as their implications for water resource governance and sustainability. The workshop comprised two days of presentations and one day of field visits. Participants included 16 ARID members from Spain (IGME-CSIC), France (IRD, University of Avignon), Tunisia (CERTE, INAT), Brazil (FUNCEME), and Morocco (UM5, IAV, Chouaib Doukkali University). The workshop also brought together 24 non-ARID participants from industry (Morocco and Spain), government institutions (Spain), and research institutes (Spain). This workshop was organised in collaboration with the European project “CLEPSYDRA”.
